Handley Primitive Methodist chapel the previous Methodist meeting place on the site was destroyed in the fire of 1892. After rebuilding, it served until 1979 and is now a private residence.

A picture of St. Mary's Church before the changes made in between 1876 and 1878. The church underwent extensive rebuilding. During this time the South Aisle was constructed and the porch (built around 1450) was moved to its present position.
